West Tech Paladins

While we have been working on the robot, we have also developed core values which are promoted by FIRST. Here are some examples of situations where we developed and encountered them!

Impact: We apply what we learn to improve our world.

We used the new information that we got in technology, using an Arduino.

 

Inclusion: We respect each other and embrace our differences.

We all work together building together.

Everyone worked on designing the robot.

Listened to each others’ ideas of the team name.

 

Teamwork: We are stronger when we work together.

We all did the robot together.

Everyone has his own task to work faster.

We always need to have each other’s back.

Had team meetings minimum every week and sometimes the whole week.

 

Fun: We enjoy and celebrate what we do.

We skipped classes because robotics.

We got pizza after the BETABOTS competition.

Some of us had a chance to go to robotics with one of their parents.

We had pizza party after the BETABOTS competition when we won 4th place.

 

Discovery: we explore new skills and ideas.

We learnt how to program with ctt.

We learned that a simple robot design that does the task can be good.

We discovered the basic design of a simple thing can be difficult.

We discovered by designing the elevator system.

 

Innovation: We use creativity and persistence to solve problem.

We changed the normal wheels to omni wheels to get better rotation.

We will use an elevator to get the ball the hatch panels into the rocket.

We removed the base of the robot and then put it back 17 times! Then finally resolved the problem.

 

We have also learned about gracious professionalism and coopertition, two important concepts part of FIRST's philosophy!

Gracious Professionalism:

Do everything on time.

Once another team came to our school to teach us how to create a pneumatic system.

 

Coopertition:

Share our skills with the opponents.

Another team gave us a Roborio when ours was not working at the BETABOTS competition.
